In the interest of public health, the Lowell Summer Music Series, presented by the Lowell Festival Foundation, has postponed all of its 2020 concerts, including the Free Fun For Kids series, to summer 2021. The health and safety of our audience, crew, and volunteers comes first. Large gatherings are not in the cards for this summer given the need for social distancing.

Lowell Summer Music Series staff are in the process of rescheduling shows for the 2021 season. While best efforts are being made to reschedule all performances, some may be cancelled outright. In the coming weeks, ticket buyers will be notified about the status of specific shows once that information is available.

If a show is rescheduled for the 2021 season, all current ticket purchases will be valid for the new date. Ticket holders who can’t attend the new date will have the option to donate the cost of their ticket purchase to the non-profit music series or receive a full refund.

For performances that can’t be rescheduled and are cancelled, ticket holders will have the option to donate the cost of their ticket purchase to the non-profit music series or receive a full refund.

Ticket holders are asked for their patience in the coming weeks as rescheduled dates are announced and refunds are processed.

We will miss our evenings with you this summer and will look forward to when we can all be together for some great music in the summer of 2021!

Still have a question?

Help Make Memories Possible...

The postponement of the 2020 Season represents a significant impact on the finances of this nonprofit series. 75% of Lowell Summer Music Series’ income is earned from ticket sales, merchandise, and food sales. To sustain this wonderful nonprofit music series, we are asking for your help to continue to present great entertainment under the stars in the heart of the Lowell National Historical Park. If you've ever enjoyed an evening of great music and good company with us, then we ask you to consider making a donation to the Series. If you haven't experienced this pleasure, then we ask you to treat your future self by making a donation as well!

  1. Hello, my name is Laura Osgood and I am the owner of Wilmington Dance Academy. I am looking for an outside venue to hold a dance recital in August. If no guest are allowed I would love to be able to at least video the pieces and put together a show for virtual viewing. I see you have cancelled all event this summer. Please let me know if it is possible to do a dance recital there in August even if not with an audience.

    Thank you so much!

    1. Lowell Summer Music Series

      Hi Laura,

Your question is a good one and we appreciate it. However, it is not one that the Lowell Summer Music Series can rightly answer. Boarding House Park is part of the Lowell National Historical Park and they make decisions about park use. Please direct your question to LNHP’s Special Event’s Coordinator, John Marciano ( or 978-275-1783).
