Free Fun For Kids: Summer Mornings Full of Joy, Wonder & Community
Each summer, the Free Fun For Kids series brings laughter, music, learning, and a whole lot of joy to Boarding House Park—and we’re thrilled to continue this beloved tradition in 2025 as part of Lowell Summer Music Series' 35th anniversary season.
Taking place on Wednesdays and Thursdays throughout July and August, these free morning events are designed to spark creativity and curiosity in children while offering families a welcoming, accessible place to gather and celebrate the magic of summer. For our team, there’s something incredibly meaningful about creating wholesome, fun-filled programming where kids can explore music, art, animals, storytelling, and surprise performances—all completely free of charge.
Each event begins at 10 AM with snacks, arts & crafts, and hands-on activities, followed by the day’s featured live performance at 11 AM. It’s a perfect way to spend a summer morning downtown—with music and memories your kids will talk about all season long.
One of the most special things about Free Fun For Kids is the way it brings our community together. Each event features arts & crafts activities presented by the National Park Service, free books for every child courtesy of Project LEARN’s “Project to Dream”, and healthy snacks from generous sponsors. And thanks to the Lowell Public Schools, every child can also enjoy a free lunch, making sure they leave with both full hearts and full bellies.
We’re proud to announce this year’s exciting lineup of performers, made possible with support from the Nancy & Richard Donahue Charitable Foundation:
